    Dave Aranda.

Kaleb Burns, a three-star linebacker from Houston, Texas, committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on July 1.

Less than a month later, on July 30, he's now flipped his commitment from Texas Tech to Baylor — becoming the newest member of Baylor's 2025 class.

Even in the wacky world of college football recruiting, seeing a recruit flip in less than a month can be a bit jarring. There's surely reason for Burns' quick decision to bail on the Red Raiders, though, and the answer to that question could include something Bears head coach Dave Aranda recently said about the NIL space.

Why have the Bears had success on the recruiting trail as of late?

“We’re paying players,” Aranda simply said, per Craig Smoak of 365 Sports.

Whether they're paying players better than the competition or have just refined their recruiting pitch, Baylor and Aranda have the Bears are looking good in 2025.

They currently have the No. 26 ranked class nationally with 19 overall commitments.

According to 247Sports, Burns is the No. 54 linebacker in the country.
