I’ve come to realize that all the places I’ve bashed for being lackluster and “trendy” restaurants are all owned by the same company. My friend (manager at Graffiti Junction), told me that TMG is raising their rent by over $6000/mo. I decided to see who this company was, and to my surprise, they own a majority of all restaurants that seem to be a carbon copy of each other, with their own twist. Taco Kat - overpriced tacos with a joke of a “speakeasy” attached. Primrose Lanes - an old bowling lane with a facelift and pricey games. The Robinson - An overpriced minimalist-style coffee shop with a raggedy upstairs bar Plantees - possibly most expensive vegan food in Orlando Mathers - overpriced speakeasy with vintage decor. Call me a hater but their bread and butter seems to be buying up locations, jacking up rent and placing in their own watered-down and “aesthetic” relying brands in place.
