According to Ludlow Police Chief Daniel Valadas, on Monday, May 15 around 8:15 p.m., officers were called to Harris Brook Elementary School’s playground after callers said teenagers had a gun and left on bicycles.

Just after 8:30 p.m., three teenage boys were found on bicycles at the War Memorial Park and matched the description given to police. Officers seized a unloaded .380 caliber pistol from a 15-year-old boy. He was arrested and was placed on bail at $25,000.

A 17-year-old boy was also charged in the incident following an investigation.

“Our officers did excellent work responding to this emergency and finding the suspects,” Chief Valadas stated. “Luckily, no one fired the gun or got hurt. These boys put themselves and others in serious danger.”

The 15-year-old has been charged with the following:

    • Carrying a Firearm Without a License
