    ‘Vaccinated and loved’: Lufkin animal shelter to offer free vaccines

    LUFKIN, Texas ( KETK ) – The City of Lufkin said Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter is once again offering free vaccines on Friday to protect pets against diseases and infections.

    Tips to keep your pets safe for Fourth of July

    According to a release, from noon to 5 p.m. at 1901 Hill St., Kurth Memorial will be administering free vaccines that pets should receive annually.

    In partnership with Petco Love, the animal shelter is offering Canine DAPPv and Feline 1-HCP at no cost.

    Reportedly, Canine DAPPv protects dogs against distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza. Whereas Feline 1-HCP protects cats against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia.

    “Don’t miss out on keeping your pets vaccinated and loved,” a release said.
