    23-year-old wanted in shooting outside Lumberton grocery store

    LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW) — A 23-year-old is wanted in connection with a shooting last week in the parking lot of a Lumberton Fresh Foods IGA Supermarket, police said on Tuesday.

    Quamek Townsend of Fairmont is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharging a weapon into occupied property and discharging a firearm in city limits.

    Lumberton police responded at about 9 p.m. on Thursday to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of N. Pine Street and determined that the shooting happened outside the Fresh Foods IGA supermarket.

    A 21-year-old woman drove herself to the hospital after she was shot in the leg.
