UT incorporates teal and magenta accents into school colors
For more than a century, the University of Toledo’s school colors have been blue and gold. Now, in a decision that is raising eyebrows, the historic tradition is getting a makeover: Teal and magenta accents are being added as part of a new marketing strategy, the university announced Tuesday. The change is part of an effort to merge the branding of UT’s academic and health care operations. Magenta accents will apply to academic materials, while teal accenting will be used for healthcare marketing.
BCSN announces 'Gameday Tailgate' sites for 2024 season
BCSN has announced its Gameday Tailgate/Game of the Week sites for the 2024 high school football season. GameDay Tailgate airs live at 6:30 p.m. from the BCSN Game of the Week each Friday on BCSN, the NLL Network powered by BCSN, and the BCSN+ app. Weeks 1 to 4 are solidified with a Sylvania rivalry matchup of Southview at Northview on Aug. 23, followed by Whitmer at Central Catholic on Aug. 30, Springfield at Start on Sept. 6, and Findlay at Clay on Sept. 13. GameDay Tailgate will make its first-ever appearances at Start in Week 3 and Clay in Week 4.
Mercy college names new VP of Academic Affairs
A long-time Mercy Health employee has been named vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty at Mercy College of Ohio. Kimberly Watson will oversee the college’s academic programs, providing strategic direction and leadership to ensure continued growth and success, Mercy said in a statement. She will retain her rank as professor of health sciences. Ms. Watson has served the Mercy Health ministry for more than 35 years in various administrative and faculty roles, most recently as the dean of the Division of Health Sciences and director of the Master of Health Administration program. Ms. Watson holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies with a cognate in Higher Education Administration from Bowling Green State University. She obtained a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Records Administration from BGSU. She also is a registered health information administrator.
Keyser Elementary announces guest speakers for final days of Empowering Future Leaders summer program
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Keyser Elementary School has announced its lineup of guest speakers for the final days of its Empowering Future Leaders summer program this week. The summer program started July 3 and will run until July 18. Empowering Future Leaders teaches attending students about leadership development, cultural competence, career development and life skills.
