Quinbrook and Primergy Launch Largest U.S. Solar and Battery Storage Facility in Nevada
Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and its portfolio company Primergy Solar have commenced commercial operations at the Gemini hybrid park in Nevada. This facility, situated in the Mojave Desert, is now the largest co-located solar plus battery energy storage system (BESS) in the United States, with a combined capacity of up to 690 megawatts (MW) of solar power and 380 MW of battery storage.
Excessive Heat Warning extended as valley continues to see chances of storms this week
Las Vegas (KSNV) — The valley's Excessive Heat Warning has been extended and after a few showers Monday morning, storm chances will continue to be in the forecast this week. MONDAY: After waking up to a few sprinkles, expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies at the start of the day. Showers and isolated thunderstorms will start developing around midday, mostly in the mountains. The weather becomes more active this afternoon through the early evening. High temperatures will reach around 109 degrees in Las Vegas with southeast winds up to 10 mph. Winds will become much stronger as storms develop. The best chances of stormy weather will be in the high terrain and the heaviest rain is forecast to fall in Mohave County, AZ. Rain amounts in Las Vegas are estimated to be between a trace up to .05" these next few days. However, with monsoon season thunderstorms brief heavy downpours will be possible along with gusty winds and lightning from developing storms.

The Reno National Weather Service forecasts an increased risk of thunderstorms early this week. These storms are expected to bring little to no rainfall as they move into neighboring Nevada. They are expected to produce heavy downpours, which may lead to flash flooding in the northern part of the state.
