The valley's Excessive Heat Warning has been extended and after a few showers Monday morning, storm chances will continue to be in the forecast this week. MONDAY: After waking up to a few sprinkles, expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies at the start of the day. Showers and isolated thunderstorms will start developing around midday, mostly in the mountains. The weather becomes more active this afternoon through the early evening. High temperatures will reach around 109 degrees in Las Vegas with southeast winds up to 10 mph. Winds will become much stronger as storms develop. The best chances of stormy weather will be in the high terrain and the heaviest rain is forecast to fall in Mohave County, AZ.
