Williamsport, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC), the organization that enforces state laws prohibiting illegal discrimination, is planning to visit Lycoming County as part of an ongoing tour.

PHRC will stop by Lycoming College on Tuesday, July 23 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Krapf Gateway Center, One College Place, in the Trogner Presentation Room. During this visit, PHRC will host a presentation on its Beloved Community framework and an overview of the Commission's services and programs.

Guests are asked to register in advance .

The Beloved Community framework was created to help Pennsylvania's communities build a culture of peace, understanding, and tolerance across races, genders, ethnicities, and other differences.

Following the presentation, Chad Dion Lassiter, MSW, PHRC Executive Director, will have a Q&A session with attendees.

“This statewide tour will provide a forum where the PHRC can listen and better understand the concerns of the community,” said Lassiter. “It will also serve as an opportunity to better our Beloved Community, create relationships and partnerships with local leaders and organizations to help them solve controversial issues within communities.”

PHRC launched the statewide Beloved Communities tour in 2023. So far, the Commission has visited Bucks, Centre, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Franklin, Lancaster, Luzerne, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

The Commission is seeking additional locations to visit. Organizations interested in hosting a presentation are asked to email Stacy Waters at stwaters@pa.gov .
