Rumble Ponies Snap Six-Game Losing Skid In Series Finale Vs Portland
Binghamton would snap a six-game losing streak against the Portland Sea Dogs on Sunday in a 7-3 victory at Mirabito Stadium. The Ponies would pick up three runs early in the second inning, Kevin Parada would hit a triple and later scored when Stanley Consuegra would reach on an error. Boothbay fines contractor $75K for missing deadline
Boothbay selectmen voted, 3-2, Aug. 14 to assess a $1,000 per day fine to McGee Construction of Gardiner for missing a construction deadline. McGee was hired this spring to finish a municipal sewer and water project to aid Boothbay Regional Development Corporation’s affordable housing project. A May 17 deadline was instituted for the project’s completion encompassing Country Club and Butler roads.

Planning board approves minor subdivision, town shed
After several rounds of review, the Boothbay Harbor planning board on Aug. 14 conditionally approved a minor subdivision at the former Beach Cove Waterfront Inn. The proposed project, first brought to the board in April, is a four-lot subdivision on the site of the inn at 48 Lakeview Road, which burned down in 2022. The board reviewed the application several times, with multiple requests for more information and clarification. Throughout the process, including two public hearings, the board and neighbors paid particular attention to the project’s potential environmental impact on West Harbor Pond.
