A man who was found dead in a tent in Los Angeles County died “several days” prior to his discovery, authorities said.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to an empty field in the 11400 block of Alameda Street in Lynwood on a rescue call for service at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found a man not breathing inside a tent; investigators discovered that he had “suffered trauma” to his upper torso and had been deceased at the scene for “several days.”
