SkyFox video: Crews battle Macedonia garage fire

MACEDONIA, Ohio (WJW) – Fire officials continue investigating after a blaze broke out at a Macedonia home early Tuesday morning.

Crews with the Macedonia Fire Department were called just after 5 a.m. to a one-story home in the 8300 block of Valley View Road.

A passerby told 911 dispatchers they spotted fire was coming from the attached garage and they weren’t sure if anyone was still in the house.

Fire officials later learned that the owner and his dog had made it out safely.

When they arrived, firefighters found heavy flames and smoke coming from the garage. As crews started working to put out the fire, the garage roof collapsed and flames made their way into the home.

Firefighters then pushed their way into the home to extinguish the fire. Investigators say a side of the home collapsed onto the driveway.

Investigators say 18 firefighters, including some from other local departments, responded to the fire.

There were no reported injuries.
