The 24th Annual Morton 3-ON-3 Hoops Basketball Tournament was held on Saturday June 29, 2024, in the Bethel Lutheran School gymnasium. Nine teams participated in the Men’s Division, six teams competed in the 15 - 18 Division, and two teams competed in the 11 - 14 Division, with the tournament proceeds going toward Bethel Lutheran Church’s high school youth basketball program.

Disc golf to land on Peoria’s Riverfront later this month
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — An 18-hole disc golf course is coming to Peoria’s Riverfront on July 30, Choose Greater Peoria announced on Thursday. The civic group said it is partnering with Ledgestone Disc Golf, host of the Ledgestone Open, for a Downtown Disc Golf Experience that will travel around the Peoria Riverfront Museum, the Caterpillar Visitor’s Center and several other landmarks.

Bloomington to Consider Conditional Use Permit for New Cricket Facility at Planning Commission Hearing
Bloomington's cricket enthusiasts could be looking at a new venue to enjoy and engage in the sport. The Bloomington Planning Commission announced that on July 25, there will be a public hearing to discuss a proposed Conditional Use Permit. If approved, it would allow an existing warehouse at 10701 Hampshire Ave S to be converted into a cricket sports facility. This session is set for 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers of Bloomington Civic Plaza, located at 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road.
District 52 announces upcoming tryouts, practice
Washington Middle School baseball tryouts will begin Monday, August 5, 2024, and continue August 6. Tryouts for grades 7-8 will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. behind Washington Middle School. Tryouts for sixth grade will be 12- 2 p.m. Students must have a current physical examination and a copy of their birth certificate on file in the WMS office before tryouts begin.
