Pekin babysitter charged with smothering 10-month-old baby
PEKIN (25News Now) - A court document alleges a 21-year-old Pekin babysitter suffocated a 10-month-old baby girl last month to stop her from crying. In a probable cause affidavit, the Tazewell County State’s Attorney’s Office said Makenna Rhodes admitted to pressing a “lovey” - a small security blanket with an attached stuffed animal - against the baby’s face and forced a pacifier into her mouth.
Disc golf to land on Peoria’s Riverfront later this month
