The latest edition of Tales From TikTok shines a light on Aaron Ennis, a father who hilariously showcased the struggles of shopping with a teenage daughter.

On April 21, a video posted on Aaron’s family TikTok page drew a wave of laughter from viewers. In the footage, the proud father of five accompanied his teenage daughter, Leilani, on a shopping trip for makeup and perfume. At the start of the one-minute clip, Aaron’s bewildered expression was evident as Leilani requested a $38 caramelized vanilla body spray.

Factoring in the total cost with tax, Aaron hilariously replied, “They charging you $40 dollars to smell like a latte?”

Leilani remained persistent in her search. Next, the eager teen asked her dad to purchase a pack of fake eyelash clusters, prompting yet another funny response from her father.

“Lani these ain’t lashes. What are these for, Barbie?”

After explaining that the small eyelash clusters could be pieced together to create a full set, Leilani hoped that the $5 price tag would entice her father to buy the item.

At first, Aaron seemed like he was on board with shelling out dough for the eyelash pack.

“I can do these. Okay, $5?” he asked, to which Leilani quickly replied, “Two for 10?”

Aaron let his daughter know that her request was going a little too far.

“Just one for $5,” he responded.

The daughter and father duo’s amusing shopping trip riled up more laughs and giggles from fans on TikTok when Leilani tried to get her father to buy her foundation. Aaron, unaware that foundation was a type of makeup, shut down his daughter’s request.

“Lani, you don’t need no foundation, you got a good mom and dad. You got a good foundation already.”

Leilani replied, “No, it’s like the base before your makeup.”

The teenager encountered a similar hump when she asked her dad to purchase beauty blenders for her makeup.

“I just bought Magic Erasers. I can just cut the Magic Erasers,” Aaron said enthusiastically.

Fed up with her dad’s refusal, the teenager whined, “It’s not the same. It’s only $4.99!”

Aaron suggested that his daughter use a Scrub Daddy sponge in lieu of the beauty blender, as he paid the “same price” for the cleaning item, but Leilani wasn’t happy with the recommendation.

“Those are rough for the skin!” she grumbled.

“It’s good. It helps you exfoliate,” Aaron hilariously responded.

    Netizens react to Aaron’s video.

In the comments section, Aaron’s TikTok followers had a field day reacting to the funny video. Numerous viewers shared that they could relate to such moments from their own shopping experiences with their parents.

“My dad’s jaw dropped when I showed him how expensive foundation was,” wrote one TikTok user.

Another fan penned, “One time, I brought a beauty blender and didn’t realize till we checked out that is was $20 freaking dollars and my dad was dying. He was like ‘It’s literally just a ball of sponge.’”

A third netizen chimed in, “I was buying eyeliner and my dad said, ‘Why don’t you just use a pen?’”
