Presque Isle Childcare Resource Center Makes Progress
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - United Way of Aroostook is another step closer to their goal of addressing the County’s growing concerns over childcare availability. Recently the United Way of Aroostook announced a new childcare resource center. The Aroostook Partnership has donated $20,000 towards the establishment of the Aroostook Childcare Resource Center. Getting United Way Aroostook much closer to their initial goal of $90,000 to kickstart efforts to address the current childcare crisis.
Maine waterworks company EJ Prescott opens new location in Caribou
CARIBOU, Maine — A water and sewer parts and service company with longtime ties to Aroostook recently launched its first location there. EJ Prescott opened a new warehouse and parts center at 59 York St. in Caribou in May and celebrated with a grand opening Wednesday. The Caribou store is EJ Prescott’s fourth in Maine and first time that the company has expanded its physical presence north of Bangor.
Houlton man finishes Miracle Mile race less than a month after a heart transplant
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - While finishing any race is an accomplishment, for one gentleman finishing the annual Miracle Mile race was quite literally a miracle. Meet Sam Hiscoe, a 35-year-old who was born and raised in Houlton. In seventh grade Sam found out he had a heart condition that would progressively get worse over time. This year, Sam found out he would need a heart transplant, so he decided to document his whole journey through TikTok.
Long-Time Sports Director Honored for Years of Service with the MAB Suzanne Goucher Broadcast Achievement Award
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) -Long-time Sports Director Rene Cloukey has been named the 2024 recipient of the Maine Association of Broadcasters Suzanne Goucher Broadcast Achievement Award. This award honors those who, over the course of their career, contribute or have contributed significantly to their station, and the overall good of broadcasting in Maine. This award comes with an automatic induction into the MAB Hall of Fame.
