MADERA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A woman was arrested for allegedly tampering with a vehicle and possessing several burglary tools, the Madera Police Department said on Saturday.

According to police, an officer was investigating a vehicle burglary and or attempted theft in an apartment complex parking lot over the weekend.

Officers say they located the suspects in an immediate area and conducted their investigation. A woman, identified as 34-year-old Sabrina Mejia of Madera, was arrested and accused of vehicle tampering, possession of burglary tools, and several active warrants.

Investigators say they were able to identify Mejia in another vehicle theft report from late June. She was booked into the Madera County Jail on several related charges from the mentioned incidents.
