McPherson High School Class Reunion Scavenger Hunt on Main Street August 3, 2024
McPHERSON, Kan. — All McPherson High School Alumni are invited to join the fun on Saturday, Aug. 3 for a Scavenger Hunt on Main Street for the 2024 MHS Class Reunion!. This year, the scavenger hunt includes clue sheets, punch cards and mini posters with pictures of addresses from back in the day and current day. Posted on store windows will be history of what businesses used to be there.
Arrest Made in Coffeyville Murder
A Neodesha man is arrested in a murder investigation in Coffeyville. 41-year-old Ryan J. McCullough has been taken into custody for the charge of murder in the second degree. On May 5th, McCullough was involved in an altercation with the victim, 63-year-old David L. Wintjen, who passed a few days later. After an investigation by the Coffeyville Police Department, a warrant was issued for McCullough’s arrest.
City of Manhattan holds Furniture Amnesty Day
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The 10th annual Furniture Amnesty Day is happening today in Manhattan’s City Park. The annual event is free for all those who register. Rodeo fan; Abilene man is long-time rodeo volunteer
For the past four decades, Sid Hammond has been a committee member with the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo in Abilene. It was in 1985 that he began his affiliation with the rodeo. The rodeo had been produced by the fair board, but it was failing. That year, fair board member Joyce Romberger came to Hammond and another saddle club member, Bruce Kogler, asking for their help in rejuvenating it.

Walk to raise awareness for rare disease known as UBA5

Cleanup effort will be conducted on Grant Avenue
There will be an effort to spruce up Grant Ave on the north side of Junction City. Phyllis Fitzgerald is coordinating a volunteer cleanup on Saturday beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the boat dock / parking area near the Republican River on the north side of Junction City. The goal is to clean up the north half of Grant Ave.
