Because of this, the National Weather Service has updated an almost weeklong excessive heat watch to an excessive heat warning affecting the entire KVOE listening area. The warning goes from 1 pm Monday until 7 pm Thursday for Lyon, Coffey, Osage, Morris and Wabaunsee counties and noon to 8 pm Thursday for Chase and Greenwood counties.
