Mississippi Correctional Facility 3rd death of the month
EAST MISSISSIPPI - East Mississippi Correctional Facility, just 90 miles east of Jackson, Mississippi, has reported its 3rd death this month. Official for Management and Training Corporation stated, Clarence Gillie,59, was discovered unresponsive on Thursday. The facility medical staff responded immediately until emergency medicals arrived, soon after declaring Gillie as deceased.
Case dismissed with prejudice against owner of former Briarwood One Building
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The slate has been wiped clean against the owner of a dilapidated North Jackson office building, now that the facility has been torn down. On Tuesday, Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Reynolds issued an order dismissing charges against Mike Kohan and Briarwood Realty Holding LLC, months after the Briarwood One Building was demolished.

‘Piss-poor job’: Council members call out JXN Water for utility cuts after one allegedly leads to woman’s wreck
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Jackson city leaders are questioning who is responsible after a couple drove over a JXN Water utility cut causing them to crash. A utility cut occurs when a portion of a street is dug up so a water main or other underground utilities can be repaired. After repairs are made, the cuts are typically filled with dirt and gravel until the street is repaved.
