Badgers star Temi Thomas-Ailara signs with LOVB Madison ahead inaugural season

MADISON, Wis. -- Temi Thomas-Ailara is sticking around. The outside hitter who starred for the Badgers last year signed with LOVB Madison ahead of the professional team's inaugural season.

The team announced Thomas-Ailara's signing on Wednesday. She spent one season with Wisconsin, ranking fourth on the team in kills-per-set and tying a program record for most aces in a three-set match.

Before her time with the Badgers, she spent four seasons at Northwestern, where she was named first-team All-Big Ten in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She was a 2022 AVCA second-team All-American.

As the audience for women’s sports grows, Madison is emerging as a hub where women can stand tall on the shoulders of those who came before.

Thomas-Ailara is the second Badger alum announced for LOVB Madison. Lauren Carlini, who played with the Badgers from 2013-2016, is the team's founding athlete.

LOVB Madison is part of the new League One Volleyball, a professional league launching later this year. The six-team league includes teams in Atlanta, Houston and Omaha.
