• An evening line of possible strong storms

• Dry Saturday; more storms Sunday

PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: A line of storms expected to move across southern Wisconsin during the evening hours. An isolated storm or two could still get on the stronger side, especially west of Dane County, with gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. The storms are expected to weaken as they move east of Madison, before ending late Thursday evening. Friday will be much cooler, the temperatures only in the lower 70s, with pop-up showers and thunderstorms developing, mainly during the afternoon hours.

EXTENDED FORECAST: Saturday looks dry, with scattered showers and storms returning again by Sunday afternoon and evening. Next week will feature on-and-off shower and storm chances, especially during the peak heating of each afternoon and early evening. Temperatures will stay normal for this time of year. Later next weekend, it will turn warmer and more humid.
