University Of Wisconsin FINALLY Approves Alcohol Sales At Their Sporting Events

Good news for BIG Ten fans. Specifically, the Wisconsin Badger faithful. For too long of a time, the BIG Ten's "drunkest city" has been kept from enjoying cold brewskis while cheering on their favorite team. But now, I'm sure the people of Madison, Wisconsin are dancing in the streets about the exciting, alcohol-adjacent news. The beer is finally here. Not only beer, but a number of other alcoholic beverages. Soon, residents of Madison - a city voted the fourth drunkest in the United States - will have more alcoholic options than they could have dreamed of at Badger sporting events. And most importantly, football games. Wisconsin athletics made the exciting announcement on UWBadgers.com : "Beginning with the football season home opener on Friday, Aug. 30, Wisconsin Athletics will begin selling alcoholic beverages in the general seating areas at Camp Randall Stadium. Athletics will offer beer, wine and pre-packaged alcoholic products such as hard seltzers. Sales will also begin at the UW Field House, home to the Badger women’s volleyball and men’s wrestling teams." If you thought Wisconsin fans loved football before, just wait until they can double fist two beers while yelling at the refs for blown calls. And it will be just two drinks per person, per visit to the concessions according to the rest of the statement: "Fans at Camp Randall will be limited to purchasing only two drinks at a time per person, the University of Wisconsin Police Department will provide increased on-site presence, and fans will continue to have access to a text line to report any problems they may encounter.
