Madison man arrested in shooting death of 15-year-old Kyesha Miller

MADISON, Wis. -- Madison police have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing a 15-year-old girl last year.

Donivan Douglas, 21, of Madison faces charges of homicide, three counts of attempted homicide, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, obstructing and felony bail jumping.

The charges stem from an October 2023 shooting outside the Harmony Apartments on Madison's east side that left 15-year-old Kyesha Miller dead. Three other teens were also hurt during the shooting.

A Madison Police Department spokesperson said Douglas was arrested on drug and gun charges Sunday by members of the Dane County Sheriff's Office. Charges from the shooting were referred to the Dane County District Attorney's Office on Tuesday.

More arrests related to Miller's death are possible and an investigation into the shooting remains active. Madison police are expected to provide further information on the case Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred just months after 20-year-old Devon Grant was shot and killed outside the same apartment complex. Two men were arrested stemming from that shooting.
