WESTBY, Wis. (WKBT) -- A man wanted by Vernon County authorities for a fraudulent check cashing scheme has been arrested in Madison.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, 59-year-old Raymond Scott "Scotty" Regall of Fox Lake tried on three occasions Thursday to cash checks at financial institutions.

The first check was cashed in Westby, another in Coon Valley, and then a third attempt was made in Stoddard.

The checks were presented as though they were from a business in Tomah, police said.

Regall was arrested in Madison Saturday morning. More arrests may come from the investigation as it continues, according to Vernon County.
