Search for missing person closes Rock Cut State Park, evacuating visitors
WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) - The search for a missing 31-year-old man sent hikers and paddlers home early on Saturday afternoon at Rock Cut State Park. Illinois Conservation Police, within the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, (ICP) Sergeant Audrey Hoftender says the active investigation began in the early hours of July 27. Wisconsin football boasted an 89% graduation for the 2022-23 academic year, or for the 2016 student cohort. The Badgers are tied for No. 10 among the 66-team list. As of this season, 68 schools will make up the Power Four this fall. There’s another respiratory illness popping up this year and medical professionals are calling it “the tip of the iceberg”. This week public health Madison and Dane County reported an outbreak of pertussis or as it’s more commonly known, whooping cough. At this point the outbreak has affected 43 people over the last eight weeks. The majority of the illnesses happened in teens. Dr, James Conway, a Wisconsin physician who specializes in infectious disease in children told the Wisconsin Examiner “It’s becoming more and more apparent that there’s the beginnings of an outbreak happening.”Wisconsin has logged 226 cases of pertussis this year, up from 51 cases in 2023.Symptoms of the easily spread upper respiratory illness include runny nose, maybe a scratchy throat but after about a week patients develop a persistent cough that lasts for weeks with its signature “whoop” sound. After putting together the majority of another top 25 rated recruiting class, the University of Wisconsin football program is shaking up that department. The Badgers announced Friday the hiring of two assistant directors of player personnel, Izayah Green-May and Brandon Rose, and the move of Jared Thompson to the position of college scouting coordinator. The changes follow the move of Casey Rabach, a former Badgers offensive lineman, to assistant offensive line coach and the anticipated move of director of player personnel Max Stienecker into a general manager role.

Casey Rabach Named Badgers Assistant Coach
Sturgeon Bay native and former college and pro football offensive lineman Casey Rabach has been named an assistant offensive line coach at the University of Wisconsin. Rabach joined the Badgers’ staff as a personnel assistant in 2022 before moving into the director of scouting role in the spring of 2023 and playing a key role in Wisconsin’s recruiting efforts.
