HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Officers with the Madisonville Police Department arrested a wanted man before a reported attempted murder that was very close to be carried out.

According to a release, at 9:14 a.m. on Monday, officers saw a white male walking on West Broadway Street near Lawrence Street in Madisonville and were aware the man had an active warrant for his arrest. The man was identified as Charles Pillow.

MPD says Pillow was immediately taken into custody, and Pillow allegedly had a loaded handgun in his back pocket and under the influence of alcohol. MPD also says Pillow was a convicted felon.

Officials say Pillow made spontaneous utterances in reference to murdering a male subject with the handgun but was thwarted by law enforcement’s intervention.

Pillow was reportedly about a block away from the intended residence.

Pillow was booked into the Hopkins County Jail on multiple charges including Attempted Murder.

At the time of this writing, Pillow’s booking photo was not available.
