Paige Jordan Vannorsdall, 27, of Madras pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the 2022 fatal shooting of her ex-husband, Devyne Briggs or Prineville.

On December 16, 2022, Briggs was at Vannorsdall’s home in southeast Madras, when Vannorsdall shot him multiple times. They were married for five years beginning in 2015 before getting a divorce. Vannorsdall had sole custody of their son, who was six when the murder occurred.

Court documents state that Briggs and Vannorsdall were in a dispute over whether Briggs was fulfilling the terms of their court-ordered parenting agreement when the shooting occurred.

Vannorsdall was arrested and arraigned immediately after the murder, and was originally charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Sentencing in the case is set for June 22.
