Dover Man Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges
Dover Police have arrested a 32-year-old Dover man on drug and firearm charges after shots were reportedly fired early this morning. The incident occurred on South New Street. Officers were able to review downtown surveillance and observe someone in the area holding a firearm. Officers responded to the area and took a man identified as Agmere Matthews, into custody without incident. Officers found 23 grams of crack cocaine, and an undisclosed amount of money on Matthews when he was taken into custody. Officers also located a Walther .38 caliber firearm after canvassing the area that Matthews had come from prior to being taken into custody. Matthews is at SCI on $55,000 secured bail.
Hartly Man Charged with DUI After Crashing into Occupied Home
HARTLY, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested a 26-year-old Hartly man on multiple charges including DUI after they say he crashed into an occupied house Tuesday. According to State Troopers, police were called to a home on Arthursville Road in Hartly on July 2nd just after 6 p.m. for reports of a Chevrolet Silverado that had crashed into the house. Police say they arrived to find the driver of the truck, Steven Wolinski, who showed multiple signs of impairment and refused to perform field tests.
Drive-by Shooting in Hartly Under Investigation
HARTLY, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating an early Tuesday morning drive-by shooting in Hartly. According to investigators, police were called to a home on Slaughter Station Road at about 4 a.m. on July 2nd on reports of shots fired. Initial investigation revealed an unknown suspect fired several shots at the house from a passing vehicle, according to police. Multiple shell casings were found at the scene.

Woman charged with stealing car from parking lot of Delaware Park
A Dover woman is behind bars, charged with stealing a car from the parking lot of Delaware Park while its owner was busy gambling inside. The incident happened shortly before 6 p.m. June 28 at the casino east of Newark, according to Delaware State Police. The woman plucked the car keys from the victim's jacket, which had been left unattended at a slot machine, police said. She then went out into the parking lot, found the Nissan Altima and drove away with it, police said. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Breana Brooks, 28. Officers with the Dover Police Department located Brooks in the stolen car the following day. She was charged with motor vehicle theft and was jailed after failing to post $2,000 secured bond.
Milford man arrested in Big Chill Surf Cantina shooting
A Milford man who was sought in connection with the early morning shooting June 28 at Big Chill Surf Cantina on Route 1 near Rehoboth Beach has been arrested in Pennsylvania. When extradited to Delaware, police said Jonathan Blackwell, 28, will be charged with felony first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and felony carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
Route 13 Closed In Smyrna Due To Motorcycle Crash
Delaware State Police have closed Route southbound in north Smyrna due to a serious crash. Troopers are currently investigating a crash involving a sedan and motorcycle at the Dupont Parkway ramp to Route 1. As a result of the crash, Route 13 southbound is closed at Exit 119 off-ramp. Authorities have advised motorists to seek alternative routes to avoid the area. The closure is expected to cause significant traffic disruptions.
