MAN DIES AFTER SHOOTING IN MOORHEAD
(Moorhead, MN) — A man is dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting in Moorhead. Police say 37-year-old Franky Torres was found with a gunshot wound in a parking lot in the 900 block of 18th Street on Wednesday. He died after being taken to the hospital. Police have arrested 35 year-old Jamal Ahmed of Moorhead in connection with Torres’ death.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Minnesota State Patrol, wants to remind WE Fest attendees that no parking is allowed along Highway 59 in Detroit Lakes prior to noon on Monday, July 29. Vehicles arriving before noon on Monday will not be permitted to park on the shoulder and will be subject to removal and penalty by State Patrol.
CROOKSTON LIONS TO HOLD FUNDRAISER FOR EMMITT SCOTT ON FRIDAY NIGHT
The Crookston Lions Club will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Emmitt Scott, a 13-year-old from Crookston. Emmitt is the son of Vanessa and Brent Scott, and Bryce Tiedemann of Euclid. Emmitt was diagnosed with a brain tumor in March. He has been hospitalized for several weeks and will have appointments, treatments, therapies, a lot of follow-up doctor appointments, and medications.
