I am a candidate for House District 39 (Northport, Belfast and Belmont). As a retired deputy sheriff of 32 years, I have been able to relax and enjoy the beauty and solace of Maine. However, bad legislation coming out of Augusta is ruining our great state.

I’m talking about legislation like LD 227 , that I believe made our state a sanctuary state for some minors and others in the United States who want a sex change, abortion, hormones, puberty blockers or other gender transition surgical procedures.

LD 1578 is the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact that potentially gives away Maine’s four electoral votes in presidential elections (after 2024) to the winner of the national popular vote, regardless of the candidate Maine voters want. LD 1619 authorizes late-term abortions with no amendments protecting healthy babies.

Stop voting “Rs” and “Ds” and start voting for candidates that you best align yourself with, regardless of party affiliation, name recognition or friendships. Rep. Jan Dodge supported the legislation above that became law.
