Public invited to Disaster Preparedness Expo on Maui
KAHULUI, Maui (Island News) – The public is invited to attend the Maui Emergency Management Agency Disaster Preparedness Expo coming up next weekend in Kahului. Happening on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Kahului, the community is invited to the Expo that will include various speakers. There will also be multiple booths that will include community resources for disaster and emergency preparedness, along with keiki activities, giveaways, and entertainment.

Two 19-year-olds were arrested for allegedly hunting illegally at night on a public road within media maven Oprah Winfrey's Hawaii property, authorities said on Monday. Luke Allen and Ty Munoz, both of Maui, were allegedly using a spotlight for hunting purposes when they were stopped by officers from Hawaii's Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement just before midnight on Friday, June 21.
