    Police arrest suspect in connection to fatal Dumfies hit-and-run

    PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Prince William County Police said officers have arrested a Manassas man in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Dumfries last week.

    The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said that on July 20, just before 7 p.m., police responded to the Oasis at the Montclair Apartment complex, which is in the 16400 block of Stedham Cl.

    PWCPD said 41-year-old Keith Anthony McBride, of the 7600 block of Helmsdale Place in Manassas, approached 37-year-old Jose Galvan outside his car in the parking lot.

    During the encounter, McBride got into Galvan’s car and began to drive in reverse, hitting another parked car in the process, as Galvan held on to the side of the car.

    McBride then began driving forward, throwing Galvan off. Police said McBride allegedly ran Galvan over before driving away.

    Galvan was taken to the hospital where he died a few days later.

    PWCPD said that on July 26, Virginia Beach City Police arrested McBride.

    McBride is charged with felony murder, felony hit-and-run and grand larceny auto, according to PWCPD.

    Police said that as of Saturday, there is no known connection between Galvan and McBride, and no other suspects are being sought.
