Train accident in northeastern York County blocks road: 911

A train accident was reported this evening in East Manchester Township, blocking a road, according to Ted Czech, public information officer for the York County Office of Emergency Management/York County 911.

A couple of cars came off the track in the 1400 block of Wago Road, he said. They have remained upright, and Hazmat is not needed.

No one was injured, Czech said.

The first call came in to York County 911 around 5:23 p.m., Czech said.

The train accident is blocking Wago Road, which will prevent drivers from using it to reach York Haven, Czech said.

It's not clear at this time how long the road will be shut down.

The accident happened on PP&L property.
