A former vice president of Tiger Trash in East Manchester Township allegedly stole $60,419 from his company over two years, according to York County Regional Police.

Jeremy M. Knaub, 49, of the 700 block of Satellite Drive in York Township has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and forgery — alter writing.

He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail, according to online court records.

Knaub, who had worked for the company for about 24 years, was terminated in October 2023, an affidavit of probable cause states. He had served as vice president of the business for about 15 years.

Police allege that Knaub used company money for personal expenses, such as alcohol, concert tickets, a rental car for his wife.

    How the theft investigation unfolded

Terrance Stewart, president of Tiger Trash, saw a credit card statement on Knaub's desk immediately after firing him. Stewart looked at it and found multiple unauthorized transactions. He reviewed additional financial records and discovered more of them.

A forensic accounting investigation that showed a loss of $60,419 through manipulation of petty cash accounts and corporate credit cards between 2021 and 2023, the affidavit states.

In some cases, Knaub made personal purchases on the company's credit card and then used the receipts to receive a reimbursement through petty cash, the affavit states.

In some instances, Knaub allegedly used white out to conceal specific transactions on receipts, the affidavit states.

The owner of Tiger Trash gave the report to police.

Some of the unathorized transactions included:

    • Hollywood Casino
    • Crossgates Golf
    • A concert
    • Gift cards from Staples
    • A speeding ticket
    • A car rental for his wife in Maryland

Knaub was permitted to expense his Out Door Country Club membership dues through the company, the affidavit states. However, the investigation found additional charges for golf, meals, alcohol and more.

The company also provided employees with fuel cards and instructed them to only use Pacific Pride because it had a contract for a lower price, the affidavit states. Police allege Knaub bought gas from unauthorized locations, such as Rutter's, Royal Farms, and Turkey Hill, using a credit card instead of the proper fuel card.

Stewart found a company letterhead that authorized Knaub to sign legal or registration documents for the business. Stewart told police that he did not grant it and that his signature was forged, the affidavit states.

Knaub could not be reached for comment. Court records do not list an attorney for him.
