Community members are reacting to Gov. Kathy Hochul's decision to indefinitely pause the congestion pricing plan.

The plan to charge most drivers $15 a day to enter Manhattan below 60th Street is postponed for the time being. It was originally set to start on June 30.

The reversal comes as a surprise to many people who were preparing to pay the price.

News 12 spoke to Joe Carvin, an environmentalist, who said he was "disappointed" by the news.

"We can argue about the level of the pricing, but it's absolutely essential that people begin to take climate change seriously," Carvin said.

Meanwhile, Raj Singhnani, a bus driver in Westchester rejoiced about the reversal.

"It's good... my little girl is going to nursery school in Manhattan and I gotta [sic] pick up my wife in Manhattan," Singhnani said.
