Man arrested on arson charges, Kewanee police say
KEWANEE, Ill. (KWQC) - The Kewanee Police Department arrested a man on arson charges. Allatonie Housley, 51, was arrested by the Kewanee Police Department as part of an arson investigation, according to a media release from officials. Housley was taken to the Kewanee Police Department for booking and processing, and then taken to the Henry County Jail on preliminary charges of arson, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass to retail property.

Henry and Stark County Relay For Life 2024 Walk for A Cure on August 17th
The 2024 Henry and Stark County Relay for Life walk is on Saturday, August 17th, from 6 to 10 PM, in Windmont Park, in Kewanee. A small group of volunteers plans this yearly event: “Our focus is to celebrate our survivors, honor those still fighting, and to remember those we have lost to cancer.” You can find luminary forms at Breedloves, the State Bank of Toulon, Peoples National Bank, and Hair Trends. You can purchase a luminary on Saturday night at the event as well. The goal is to raise $40,000 this year, but they need your help to fight cancer and celebrate cancer survivors. They have raised $5,827.92 so far and there are two days left before the survivor walk. You can donate here, join the relay, or purchase luminaries here. You can find out more information on the Relay for Life of Henry & Stark Counties Facebook page. The opening ceremony is at 6 PM, and the survivor lat begins at 6:30 PM. You can join the cancer survivors during the open walk from 7 to 9 PM.
