Lost history lies in neglected Manteo cemetery
There is nothing to mark what was once the Scarborough family cemetery on Driftwood Street in Manteo. Listed by Dare County GIS as a 1,000-square foot cemetery, the site is on private property and is overgrown with shrubs and small trees. There is no access to it; it is on private property and the road that is closest to the cemetery is a private drive for Hatchell Concrete.
