Meet the Players Night At WCV
Wildcat football and volleyball are in scrimmage action today for Meet the Players night at West Central Valley. The volleyball action begins at 3PM, followed by a free will donation fun zone for kids at the baseball and softball field, and a parade of athletes for all the fall activities before the football scrimmage against the Madrid Tigers at 7PM. After the football scrimmage, there will be a foam party for everyone in attendance.
Atlantic Opens Football Season With Some Newcomers on Defense
(Atlantic) Atlantic and Council Bluffs, Jefferson opens the season in a week 0 game tonight. The Trojans will have a lot of new faces on defense. The Trojans must find a replacement for Colton Becker, an all-district linebacker for the Trojans lost to graduation. Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says Jake Wailes will fill that spot this season.
Iowa Teen Caught Going Over 120 mph On a Suspended License
An Iowa teenager landed in the hottest of waters after being caught going well over 100 mph near Ottumwa. The kicker? He was driving on a suspended license. The Iowa State Patrol are hoping this serves as a reminder for parents to talk to their children who are just starting to drive or are actively learning the Rules of the Road about the dangers of excessive speed.
Reminder: Perry’s Latino Festival Happening Today
A reminder that a fun annual event is taking place today in the City of Perry. Hispanics United for Perry is the group behind the Latino Festival to celebrate the multitude of cultures within the community. The festival will begin at 10am with the parade along 12th Street and Willis Avenue by the Hamlin Bell Apartments, then head into Pattee Park. Raccoon Valley Radio will make an appearance during the parade. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti entices people to come observe the diversity.
