The Elk Rapids Lions Club recently honored three local students as its 2024 Scholarship winners with a special dinner for the honorees and their families. Shown at the event are (from left) Lions Club representative Dave Lein, with winners Paige Fosdick, Camden Moore and Alyssa Colvin. Paige is a 2024 graduate of Elk Rapids High School, while Camden and Alyssa are 2024 graduates of Kalkaska High School. Michigan man pleads guilty in mPerks cyber theft that cost Meijer more than $1 million
(CBS DETROIT) - A 22-year-old Michigan man will give up $630,000 in cryptocurrency and cash as well as his computer tower after pleading guilty in a massive mPerks cyber theft scheme that cost Meijer more than $1 million. Nicholas Mui of Grand Haven pleaded guilty on Monday to one count of conducting a criminal enterprise in the theft and sale of information associated with mPerks accounts, the Michigan Attorney General's Office said. Mui was charged in December 2023 following a lengthy investigation by Michigan State Police's Fraud Investigation Section and the FORCE team.
