Maple Grove scored both runs in the fourth during the 2-1 win over Champlin. Kaden Harney got the first run on the board when he hit into a fielder’s choice at third, allowing Johnson to score. With two outs, Sam Hagen drove in Harney with an RBI single to right.

Johnston (W) started the game on the mound for Maple Grove and went six scoreless innings. Berglin (S) allowed one unearned run in the seventh to secure the win.

Wayzata used a four-run bottom of the sixth to snatch a late victory over Maple Grove. Post 172 trailed 1-0 after five innings and took a temporary lead after plating two in the top of the sixth.

Van Slooten grounded into a fielder’s choice but an error by the third baseman allowed Kalscheuer to score. With two outs, Harney drove in Van Slooten with a single to right.

Wayzata answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning and took a 5-2 lead. Maple Grove scored another run on a fielder’s choice during the top of the seventh but wasn’t able to continue the rally as they fell for the first time in four games.
