IKEA pop-up store opens Friday at the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes

IKEA will debut a new pop-up shop in Maple Grove on Friday and opening day festivities will be complete with Swedish meatball giveaways.

The new shopping experience at the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes will open at 11 a.m. Friday, with regular operating hours planned from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily for at least the next six months.

The grand opening celebration, scheduled until 3 p.m., is set to include activities, tours, games, product samples and more.

The first 25 IKEA Family members to visit will receive a $25 gift card and complimentary Swedish meatballs, according to the announcement.

At the pop-up shop, customers can consult with IKEA experts, receive quotes, place orders, coordinate home delivery or in-store pick-up and purchase from a curated selection of popular IKEA products.

“We are thrilled to bring IKEA closer to the northwest metro area, providing enhanced accessibility and a more personalized shopping experience," stated Sanjay Kumar, the market manager of IKEA Minneapolis.

The first IKEA pop-up shop in the Twin Cities opened earlier this year inside Rosedale Center .

The pop-up shops also align with a big milestone for IKEA Minneapolis, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
