MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A woman charged after a dead body was found inside a vehicle following a car crash in southern Minnesota is now facing murder charges in Hennepin County. Hennepin County prosecutors charged Margot G Lewis, 32, of Iowa, on Wednesday with two counts of second-degree murder after police discovered a "bloody scene" inside a Minneapolis apartment. Lewis was charged earlier this week in Olmsted County with one count of interfering with a body.
Watertown Motorist Injured in Douglas County Crash on Thursday
Authorities are investigating a one vehicle crash in Douglas County that sent a Watertown motorist to the hospital. 23-year-old William Richard Malz was westbound on I-94 in Orange Township in his Ford Fusion. Malz was entering the Highway 29 exit ramp when he lost control of the vehicle and went into the ditch.

Monday, June 17 - Vehicle #1 and vehicle #2 were on the 7700 block of Highway 12 when vehicle #1 slowed, then stopped for geese crossing the road. Vehicle #2 could not stop in time due to the wet pavement and struck Vehicle #1. No injuries were reported and there was minor vehicle damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Thursday, June 20 - An officer responded to a two-vehicle crash with no injuries on County Road 11 and County Road 90. Vehicle #1 stopped at the four-way intersection. Vehicle #2 did not stop and struck the driver’s side of vehicle #1. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage but were able to be driven from the scene. Driver #2 was cited for failing to yield.

MINNEAPOLIS – An Iowa woman arrested near Eyota last weekend with a corpse in her car has a new albeit temporary home: A cell in the Hennepin County jail. Margot Lewis, 32, was transported by an armed guard from the Olmsted County jail in Rochester to Minneapolis, where she faces two murder charges. The initial arrest was at Interstate 90’s Eyota exits in Olmsted County. In her car, which had wrecked, was the body of a former love interest in Minneapolis.
