Final Day at the Central Wisconsin State Fair
The final day of the Central Wisconsin State Fair is underway at the fairgrounds in Marshfield. They have the Cornerstone Church Service at 9am and 10:30am with Kings Conquest Christian Music in the Family Tent. The carnival opens today at Noon. Individual ride tickets can be purchased. Wristbands will be available for $25 from Noon-5pm.

Alleged hit-and-run driver faces felony drunken driving charge after I-39 crash
A 43-year-old Waupaca man is facing felony drunken driving charges after an alleged hit-and-run crash on I-39, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol’s Wausau Post. In a news release, police said the driver, Shaun M. Novakavich, struck a cable barrier in the median at about 7 p.m. Saturday on I-39 near Stevens Point and fled the scene. Novakavich continued northbound on I-39 and was intercepted by a trooper hear Hwy. 10.

The heat arrived here today with highs into the middle and upper 80s, even touching 90 in Waupaca this afternoon and it sure felt muggy with dew points in the low 70s. Overnight, I’m expecting lows in the upper 60s to low 70s with mostly cloudy skies. A weakening warm front is moving north and could bring a isolated shower overnight, but most stay dry.
