Wausau 24 Race returns to Nine Mile County Forest
RIB MOUNTAIN — The Wausau 24 endurance mountain bike race and Wausau Trail Run returns to Nine Mile County Forest Recreation Area July 26-28. Wausau 24, at 8704 Red Bud Road, welcomes nearly 1,200 racers and runners from 20 states and Canada to test their athletic endurance on foot and bike. The weekend begins July 26 with the Wausau Trail Run, featuring 5K, 10K and half-marathon distances starting at 7 p.m.

Bredlau brings with her 22 years of experience in human resources, with more than 10 years serving as a human resources leader in the central Wisconsin area. Two people have died in a listeria outbreak across 12 states in the U.S. that is likely linked to sliced deli meats, according to the CDC. In total, 28 people have been infected and hospitalized with the disease as of Friday in an outbreak that began in May, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Board fills two key positions in Lincoln County
The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors filled two key positions within the county this week. During its meeting at the Lincoln County Service Center in Merrill on Tuesday, July 16, the board unanimously voted to approve the appointments of Jason Lemmer as Lincoln County Highway Commissioner and Heather Marheine as the county's new Finance Director.

(WJFW)- During the gun deer season last fall hunters killed roughly 14% fewer bucks and 27% fewer does in northern Wisconsin compared to the last 5 year average. The natural resources board met in Green Bay and unanimously approved certain recommendations for the 2024 deer season. Certain counties will have new restrictions and new opportunities.
