Come learn the recipe for making beautiful collage quilts when designer, art quilter, teacher, exhibitor and quilt judge, Cinde Ebeling, speaks at Highland Lakes Quilt Guild July 17.

Multi-talented Ebeling is also an agribusiness woman who lives on a farm in West Texas. Nature has always been Ebeling’s inspiration, and she will share her journey with us beginning with her memories of learning to sew at an early age and soon discovering fabric was her primary medium for self-expression.

Ebeling says, “Quilts are really the basics of life. They tie us to the land.” Ebeling’s specialty is known as collage; in the world of quilts, collage is the art of applying multiple pieces of overlapping raw edge fabric to a background.

Spoiler Alert: Ebeling’s recipe for creativity is part chocolate, part music, combined with color and fabric.

Special quilt-topic programs are offered monthly between 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., every third Wednesday of the month at the First Methodist Church of Marble Falls, Fellowship Hall, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr. Please join us at 9 a.m. for coffee, tea and light refreshments; meet our members and enjoy showand- share quilts and projects at the conclusion of our program. Thursday workshops are held at 600 Hi Ridge Road Church at Horseshoe Bay. July 18, Ebeling’s Collage Methods Workshop, located at Church at Horseshoe Bay, is open to the public as space allows, members have priority and pre-registration is required at the proceeding Wednesday program.

HLQG is an allvolunteer organization dedicated to continuing the art of quilt-making and supporting local charities with our community projects. To learn more about our non- profit 501c3 organization and preview a listing of future HLQG programs and workshops please visit our website at www. HLQG.org or contact us at HLQGuild@gmail.com.
