Early-morning motorcycle accident sends one to hospital
MARCY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — One person is in the hospital on Tuesday, July 2 after an early-morning accident, according to the New York State Police. Troopers were called to the motorcycle versus vehicle accident intersection of Old River Road and Joe Kelly Memorial Road in the town of Marcy at approximately 7:10 am on Tuesday. Further investigation showed that the driver of the vehicle — 35-year-old Julius Daniels of Rome — was driving eastbound on Old River Road when he attempted to make a left turn.

A Springfield man pleaded guilty to using fake checks at several Central New York post offices to buy $30,000 in stamps, New York state prosecutors said in court filings. William Soto, 32, of Springfield, was charged with 12 counts of theft of government property, according to U.S. Attorney Carla Freedman’s Office for the Northern District of New York.
