PELL CITY – The Pelham Panthers came up short in their season opener on the road Friday night, Aug. 23 versus Pell City, 35-7. The game served as a litmus test for both sets of Panthers—while Pelham’s roster had several younger players stepping up to key roles, Pell City had a new coach on the sideline.

Huskies bulldoze JAG in season opener
TRUSSVILLE – The theme was there for the taking, and Hewitt-Trussville High School took full advantage. On one end of Husky Parkway, for months bulldozers have cleared land for a new housing development. On the opposite end, more bulldozers have pushed away mounds of dirt for a future softball complex. Students on Friday night dressed in hard hats and neon construction vests.
