The Louisa County Sheriff Office had previously received reports of stray, injured, and malnourished animals on two Louisa farms.

Deputies had visited the two farms on several occasions before they seized more than 45 animals.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 16, deputies served two search warrants, one at a farm on the 7000 block of Parrish Road and one on the 800 block of West Old Mountain Road.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, animals from both farms have been examined by veterinarians on multiple occasions since April and the property owners were given several chances to improve the conditions in which the animals were living before they were taken by deputies.
