Little Italy Feast of the Assumption set for August 15-18 in Greater Cleveland
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland’s biggest Italian-Catholic celebration of the summer is fast approaching with the upcoming Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy. Commonly known as “The Feast,” Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood becomes a four-day party in the streets with plenty of food, entertainment and celebration for locals and visitors alike.
MetroHealth launches midwife program to reduce infant mortality rates
The MetroHealth System launched a midwifery program this month in an effort to drive down infant mortality rates in Northeast Ohio. Amy Lowell, who joined MetroHealth in late June as director of the new midwifery program, said the first priority for the new program is a focus on the communities that have been hardest hit by infant mortality.

Niles is preparing to host its 4th annual Arts & Crafts Festival this Saturday, August 3. The festival will take place at Waddell Park in Niles from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Arts & Crafts Festival will have over 80 vendors offering a wide variety of handmade art, products, and food.
Springfield Italian eatery will move to downtown Urbana
Eatly, a seasonal Springfield restaurant, will soon move to a larger location in downtown Urbana and open year-round. The restaurant, which has been open at 601 N. Fountain Ave. since 2021, will be “steps off the square” in Urbana, and while it will continue serving its traditional Sicilian fare, owner Tom Thompson said he will add homestyle foods like baked mac ‘n cheese, baked steaks and homemade chicken and noodles, to the menu. The new location will also have a full bar and an event room.
